More than before, my current supervisor is lenient about keeping us on the clock.

It's to make up for the low wage, consequently think better of him than past bosses.

When I lived in Italy before I retired, they paid for most of it. We could bet a pizza or pasta dish, bread, a drink and coffee for a euro or less depending on the restaurant we went to. The company paid the rest.

No it doesn't. They will, on occasion, provide lunch for us. A lot of times they'll set up tables out in the hall for all the vagrant construction workers, but leave my department out, unless they have anything left over. Usually by the time they tell us, "Oh, hey guys, there's food out in the hall!" there's hardly anything left.
