Why is there a limit on how many questions you can ask each day?

Yahoo has instituted the limitations in April of 2012 to ward off spamming, trolling, and all other forms of misuse.

So new accounts created to spam can better be stopped before they create too much of a mess. Not to mention, since the site was created for people with legitimate information/knowledge seeking or needing to learn about the experience of others, it's unlikely that anyone would have even 20 legit questions worth posting in a day.

Prevent spammers. If they didn't, there would be a bunch of bots just spamming with garbage. The limit goes away after you prove you are legit, by putting in time and effort to level up.

Give you a little time to learn the system, but not to cheat it and load the site with spam and garbage questions.

Without the limit it would result in people posting even more thread wasting inane questions, that has no knowledge worthy value, nor are actually seeking knowledge worthy information. For those looking for something like that, then I'd recommend Reddit as that's a place where I've seen more than a few thread wasting posts made, albeit I tend to stay to two specific forums.
