What could happen if you drank a lot of alcohol the night before a liver function blood test?

Alcohol consumed up to 48 hours before the blood draw for liver function testing can impact the test results. Many doctors recommend no alcohol for that period to get a more accurate assessment of the level of liver enzymes in your blood. (And for some of their patients, it's a test of whether they are alcoholics, unable to give it up temporarily for a valid reason.)

You're going to get sky high liver readings that usually indicate a disease. and then when you tell your doctor that you had alcohol the night before they're going to reorder the test and you will waste your money.
