Not bad for what you have to do. Come and go type of job, when I subbed 6 years ago the pay was 90.00 a day

Not for California. If you worked 5 days a week, that's $750 a week, minus taxes, or $3000 a week, out of which you'd probably clear about $2000-2500. You can't live on that in most places in California.

Crappy pay. That’s only 39k a year. Teachers work about 12+ hours a day. They have to show up early to plan the lesson, then they’re in school for 8 hours teaching the kids, then when they go hone, they have to grade the homework. That comes out to12.50 an hour for a 12 hour day.
