Is parental alienation a bit like racism or sexism or whatever, whereby a person simply cannot shake off his hatred despite what understands?

Parental alienation is against a single person and is usually based on the actions or inactions of that person. Racism and sexism are against entire groups and usually based on nothing more than ingrained bias and/or one or two interactions with one or two members of those groups. The former generally happens during the most formative years of one's life and comes from the one who should be a person's primary emotional support system. So that's a hard one to crack. The latter can usually be conquered simply by meeting others of the hated groups who are kind and disprove the existing prejudice.
