What do you think of the name Audreigh Carolyne?

Audrey was my grandmother's name, her mother was called Caroline, so I thought I would honour them both. The alternate spellings are to make vintage names seem more modern, and it seems to be the thing these days. Nobody spells Ashley as Ashley anymore, it's all Ashleigh. My niece has a Hayleigh in her class too. So what's the deal with different spellings?

  • It's not more moden, it's just silly. Audrey Caroline would be a beautiful name and a nice way to honor those women. I think Audrey Carolyn sounds better, however.

I am going to be blunt and I appolize but those spellings are not good.

    Audrey Caroine

    Or even the name Carolyn

    Audrey Carolyn

Are better options in my opinion.

I love the names Audrey and Caroline.  I detest the alternate spellings Audreigh and Carolyne.

I'm old school and stick with the originals in

Most cases. I also prefer to give new kids new

Names that have never been used in the family.

So go research the names in the family on both

Sides ( yours and his ) and look through a phone

Book and high light names you and your man

Or ok with. They need to be easy to pronounce

And easy to spell and easy to remember. As

It helps the kids school work and career and

Socializing success. Give you kids the nicest

Life experience you can. It's all about them

In this ( name decision ) or try Carey first two

Letters of Carolyne and last three of Audrey.

It makes you look incompetent.  Audrey is pretty just the way it is.  Not everyone spells it differently. It doesn’t look modern it just looks dumb.  What the big deal with spelling it different? It’s annoying.   That child  will always have to correct someone’s spellings to what you have created.  Caroline is just ugly

I don’t think the different spellings make the name more modern - just the opposite.

In 20-30 years, the different spelling will just seem old and dated.  Everyone will know she was born during that time when parents went overboard with the unique name spellings.  Fads always become dated.

Butchering the spelling doesn't make them look modern.

They're not alternate spelling. An alternative spelling would be Catherine with a k. Audreigh doesn't even make any sense. Clearly English wasn't your best subject at school. Let someone else be in charge of the naming

Misspelling names doesn't make them more modern. It makes the namer look illiterate.

    Audrey Caroline is beautiful.

Audreigh Carolyne looks like a 2nd grader picked the name and spelling.

I personally do not care for "creative" spellings of perfectly nice names... it almost cheapens a name to add a bunch of random letters just for the sake of being different. Audrey Caroline is a very beautiful name; changing the spelling just makes it cheap.
