If sprinting is hypertrophy, then why don't people do sprinting rather than leg workouts?

If sprinting is hypertrophy, then why don't people do sprinting rather than leg workouts? If you sprinted all the time shouldn't you have stronger legs than a powerlifter? Maybe that is the case since most animals sprint a lot but don't do weightlifting, so they are stronger than strongmen.

    Sprinting isn't hypertrophy. You may have meant sprinting causes hypertrophy. 

    People don't sprint in order to build muscle mass. If someone tried to build leg muscle mass by sprinting, they would likely achieve burnout. 

    Animals can be stronger than strongmen because they have the genes for stronger muscles.

    Since sprinting isn't hypertrophy, everything after that statement is nonsense.
