IF an Epidemic occurs in US would mortgages, electric, cable, water, credit card bills be collected when people are being told to stay home?

Update:

Would govt. freeze everything so we can stay home safe?

Yes, you still have to pay your bills.

Of course. Even if the coronavirus sweeps the US and the death rate of between 2% and 3% holds ( I think that number will fall), there will be more than enough staffing to run the computers that make electronic payments from your personal devices go through, and USPS will still be delivering mail.

I can work anywhere I want, but I prefer working from home, so I could get paid in different ways. In addition if an epidemic occurs then I should be fine.

Why would any government freeze bills that people accumulate? That doesn't make sense!

I am under the impression that an epidemic might occur all over the world.

The United States government in the event of a national emergency would make federal emergency funds available and it might order that water and electric bills and credit cards. That were used during the time of the disaster to prevent the spread of the epidemic be deferred.

i AGREE,  We can't have sick people on the streets homeless. If landlords refused to defer then those sick people might just come looking for them to give them a sloppy kiss. So I agree to avoid chaos the govt. will have to.

Actually, most Americans do get sick pay.  Few would actually lose their job over a temporary pandemic.
