Why was the Vietnam war so deadly? Around 2-5 million died.?
- martinLv 71 month ago
The second World War killed 55 million in about half the time as Vietnam. However, Vietnam occurred when conventional warfare was using mass killing weapons, and China was sending thousands of troops to fight for North Vietnam. Heavy population in the area and crazy mass killings with rapid fire rifles, bombs, and canons caused the high death rate.

Agent Orange, a defoliant, mainly used to destroy crops around villages to starve the Vietnamese. (Nothing to do with trying to stop people hiding in the jungle, there is just too much jungle! That was fake info to hide the real reason for Agent Orange.)
Carpet Bombing by B52s, covering large areas with bombs destroying everything.
