How do I buy an actual train in New Zealand?
Wanting to buy a train for less than $11,746.91. How would one go about doing this?

It seems you'd be investing in a railroad company rather than starting your own little railroad to compete. There is a lot of government regulation of the railroads. It would be hard for you to compete. But if you just want part of a train in your back yard, that's a different matter. You could buy a box car or caboose from a railroad company.

You might be able to buy one rail car that is not in the best condition with your money. Just the rail car.
