Is it OK to tell my recruiting agency in my home city to look for jobs I qualify for even though I am temporarily staying in another city?

I would tell them I am not in town at the moment (or should I not tell them that?). I am temporarily staying with family in a different part of the same state.

I can come back to my home city but only if I secure regular work (due to the high cost of rent).

Update:

In other words, if they contact me about a position, I could fly back (with reasonable notice) to start the job or to do an interview, which may cost me the price of airfare but I am not located so far the ticket would be extremely expensive.

If you really want a job, you need to come back to your "home city."

It is okay to ASK them. If you try to TELL them, they will tell you to go away.

Hang on while I call and ask them what their policy is.

Do you want work in El Paso, and you’re staying in Nacogdoches?
