do you think studying and getting into buddhism for self-help and a way of life makes you a weak loser?

Update:

I don't really care for the spiritual or traditional aspects of it. I just like the philosophical aspects of the religion

No more than turning to any other religion or self-help books/videos etc.  Generally speaking all these things have some good advice, the problem being is that each try to claim that they are everything you need to know -- learn from all, see what works and drop the rest.

It doesn't make you a loser, there is nothing wrong with needing help...but it is a walk down the wrong path. Accept Jesus as your Savior and enter into a relationship with the Creator of the universe. This is far superior to so-called "enlightenment".

No, but if you think so then don't do it for self-help. Everyone should know Buddhist meditation techniques.
