Why did God not make other habitable planets closer to earth? It seems like he is teasing us, by putting them hundreds of light years apart?

And there are probably billions of them, but they are too far away for us to populate them. I don't get it.

    Look at the mess we made of the Earth... and you think He would turn us loose to do the same to other places?

    They only appear to be too far away to get there. This way God did not have to go to the bother of making the actual planets and stars, he only had to create the images of them, knowing that we would think them too far away to discover the illusion.

    There's a lot of reasons I don't see design in nature. An unclear design philosophy and lack of efficiency are two of the biggest.
