What is the origin of the Name Renars?
I have a curiosity of the origin of the Name Renars. I have a friend from Latvia and he asked me if I could help him find where his name comes from. We are also thinking that his name is Reynhard in english. We are just curious.

"Renars" (in Latvian usually written "Renārs") is the Latvian form of the Germanic name "Reinhard", derived from the Ancient Germanic name "Raginhard", composed of the elements "ragin" meaning 'advice', and "hard" meaning 'brave' or 'hardy'. The Normans brought it to England in the form "Reinard", wich later became "Reynard".Source(s): http://www.behindthename.com/
