Ate aloe leaves. Should I be worried?

In laws have an aloe plant, a small one, and whenever I would be up there I would break off a tiny piece of the leaf and eat it whole. I always thought aloe was health but now I am hearing about aloe latex that is between the skin and gel which is not good for you, apparently it used to be used as a laxative? Anyway, I would eat maybe a 1" by 1" piece of leaf at a time, maybe having 2 or 3 pieces at most in one day. I did this whenever I went up there, which would be maybe once a month or couple of months. I havent eaten any in several months now, and I am completely done. I would say I maybe have eaten a whole 8" to 12" long leaf (one that's only about an inch wide) over the course of maybe a year, little piece by little piece. I dont remember ever having diarrhea from this. Do I have anything to worry about? Or was the amount insignificant?
