    Yes,, they are made to burn coal or wood. Your choice.

    I suspect you can but I would go slow by doing only a little bit of coal first and then ramp up the amount over a series of hours until you get the heat you want.

    You can try. A few pieces at a time in there on top of coals probably wouldn't cause any harm.

    Yes you can. We used one for years wood, coal, anything but pressurized lumber.
