Do I send my schedule C, profit and loss, in with the 1040?  ?

Or do I just use it as reference?

You send it in with the 1040. Also, if the profit is at least $400, then you send Schedule SE along with the Schedule C and the Form 1040.

EVERY form you complete as part of your return should be submitted as PART of the return. Documents the IRS calls a worksheet don't have to be submitted.

You include any and all schedules used with the 1040.

If you need to fill it out, then you send it with the rest of the return.

You include them.  If a profit, don't forget schedule SE.
