Can you put water on a toaster fire after unplugging the cord?

If not then why would it still be dangerous?

Yes if you want a nice grease fire. Throw it outside far from your house and buy a new one. Keep it clean of greasy crumbs!

While you're buying a new toaster oven grab a fire extinguisher.

SMOTHER the flames. MOST kitchen fires can't be effectively extinguished with water. If there is grease involved, it will float on the water and end up spreading to a wider area.

Alternate answer: If the toaster fire is SMALL enough to safely unplug the toaster, it will PROBABLY extinguish itself between when you unplug it, and when you get water to it.

Yes as long as its unplugged.  I recently had this issue I just opened door an threw it in the driveway.   You can get new one for 10 15 bucks.

Yes you can, but draping a wet towel over it instead is faster and cheaper than replacing the toaster.

You could get food poisoning after eating the burnt toast.

That's one way of heating water. However you should be paying the utility bills.

It's best to use salt on an electrical fire in the kitchen.
