can humans drink breast milk?

If a woman wanted to save money on groceries, would it be healthy for her to drink her own breast milk? Would it be safe for her to bottle up her milk and sell it?

You mean can adults drink breast milk. Sure they can. My wife let me sample hers when she was breast feeding our son. It was very good, but there isn't enough for the whole family.

I do not think there is any issue in this. But it is illegal to sell breast milk. This can be used by family members if the woman is willing. She (or some family member say husband) needs to express her milk or some one needs to suckle her breasts regularly to maintain lactation and this could be exhausting.  But this is possible.

It takes more calories for her to make it than she would get from consuming it, so no, there's no benefit to drinking her own. As for "selling" breastmilk, that's not very well regulated under US law. If you mean like to a grocery store, then no, that's very unlikely. But breastmilk donation to milk banks does exist and sometimes donors can be paid (though usually they are not), and there is no regulation over private donation or sales. But I mean, you're buying a bodily fluid from someone who may be a stranger to you, and have no control over what food or meds they may put in their body, or what diseases they could have. A lot of parents are not willing to take that risk, especially when a viable option like formula is readily available.

That's pretty gross. Its a male fetish/fantasy but it is not palatable and therefore not a good idea. No woman in her right mind is going to express her milk and market it for human adult consumption. For other babies/mothers who want to nurse but cannot, it might be a solution but not for mass consumption by the general public.

You might not understand the situation, the same as the reducing fertility rate in America. There is not enough breast milk even for babies. The guys will it as always with or without milk.

It requires more energy to make the milk than it provides. It would be counterproductive
