What happens when you block someone?

Im considering it, but Im not sure what it does

    You remove that person from the conversation and removing dissent is not always a healthy thing.  Discussion is only healthy and valuable if you actually listen to others, especially others who hold different opinions.  Personally I hate the blocking feature and have never used it.  It does more to encourage trolls and dishonest activity than it does to protect anyone.  Controlling the discussion is not what asking and answering questions is about.

    They can't answer your questions or comment under your answers with the account you blocked (they can use another account, if they have one).

    Move your question to Yahoo Products>Yahoo Answers as it's currently in Yahoo Products>Yahoo Mail>Abuse and Spam and not applicable to this subcategory.

    You can move your question by clicking Edit (pencil icon for mobile)>Edit category just beneath your question, then selecting the category in which it is better suited.

    They can't answer your questions and if the YA email service ever works again they can't email you.

    They won't be able to add answers to your questions. This prompts many users to create another account that's not bocked or go anonymous
