i work for a firm on a rotating shift , they are now saying that they will be changing my shifts to all kinds of day and night time legal ?

    Of course it is. And if you don't want to, it's alse legal for you to quit.

    Absolutely. That's one of the inherent problems with shift work.

    Which Country ? In most employers can change times of working due to Needs of the business.

    Sure, if there isn't something in your written employment contract that prevents it.  Most companies have at least two shifts and sometimes three.  They also can have people working seven days a week.  It is normal for them to assign employees to different shifts and days.

    If you are unable or unwilling to work evening, overnight, or weekend shifts, that is something you have to negotiate with your boss.  If they like you enough, they'll try to accommodate your wishes.  If they don't; you'll either need to take the shifts given or look for a different job.

    Unless you have your shifts written into a signed contract your hours and shifts can be changed at any time. You are free to quit if you don't like it.
