Best is relative meaning everybody will have a different experience.  The thing is how are using Android, Mac, Windows.  the biggest mistake people make when it comes to operating systems on computers. Is they allow everybody to have total control on the computer or administrative accounts.  There should be one primary user administrative account.  Everybody else should be a basic user or guest.  You need to have all the updates set limits or parameters on when it can be used, by who, what apps, programs, websites can be viewed .  You don't only need need a good antivirus l, you need good malware remover, spyware remover and be proactive to protect your stuff.

Norton is one of the best antivirus. Most of the time preferred by users.

As others have said, I use windows defender and the free Malwarebytes. However, I use a browser that does not share my info: Duck Duck Go.

I have used this combo for 2yr and gotten maybe 3 bugs despite the fact that the virus program is not continuous and I enter pages that are not pre-checked. I often go a wk. between cleaning.

I think I'll run it while I'm thinking about it.

I swear by Norton with Life Lock.  I've had this for years and never had a problem.

There is no best antivirus. The quality shfts. First one is the best, then usually they get surpassed by another program.

By "surpassed"--you mean, when they SELL OUT, thinking they're the best anti-virus scanner software on Earth--and install "pay for" catches.  The era of "free" anti-virus software is dead.
