can whiskey last 50 years?

    Yes. Distilled spirits never "go bad".

    Some would say 50 yo aged in the bottle whiskey is way better than the same whiskey aged only a few years old. In fact some very old bottled whiskeys sell for hundreds of dollars.

    I'm not a whiskey drinker in general (I do enjoy Jack Daniels Black Label though); but that's what I understand from those who drink whiskey.

    So the answer is...yes. Whiskey can last 50 years, at least some whiskeys.

    Barkley Hound's got it exactly right. Best answer to him.

    We don't drink whiskey often, and it's sad how many times we pour a half bottle down the sink because there's sediment in the bottom and it smells weird.

    Clearly I need to drink hard liquor more frequently.

    If unopened it can last forever. If opened then only 1-2 years.

    Yes, if you add milk to it then it will restore it's youth.
