Why do mothers go back to work so soon after giving birth instead of being with the baby?

Because that's OUR choice and nobody else's decision

Just because we go back to work doesn't mean that we don't love our kids but some women need to work in order to support our kids and I rather work than stay home anyway while my boyfriend stays home with the kids.

Define "so soon" In the UK you're entitled to a year off. Many other countries offer the same or longer. Only 3 world countries dont allow maternity leave.

The reason they have to go back is to keep their job, so to earn money.

Damn, in Canada you can take 16 months as long as you go back to work for 6 full time equivalent months afterwards.

    Many different reasons.

Some mothers want the best of everything - they want both family and career and they don't want to put their career on hold for the family part of it.

Some women have better jobs than their spouse and may make the choice to let the father be home with the baby while they go back to work.

Maternity leave is often unpaid or paid at a much lower rate than a full paycheck.  The amount of time allowed for maternity leave is limited.   In many cases, the choice is go back to work or not have a job and they just can't afford to not have that second income.

Some couples work out their schedules so that they don't need a babysitter by working different shifts and different hours.  This means that the second income from both spouse's working doesn't just go to pay for daycare.

Because mat leave money is only 55% of regular pay. Continuing to live on half what you’re used to and take care of the baby is harder. Going back to work is a proven method to make money

In the US, it's because we don't have maternity leaver.  They don't get paid if they don't go to work.

They need to earn extra cash and have no choice.

Most mothers have a leave for maternity. And everyone has a different financial need. It shouldn't be a concern of yours, unless you're having your own baby and have to make a personal decision about mothering.
