Can doctors switch you to a new antibiotic after two days of taking one?

Not likely. They don't want to create bacteria-strains that are resistant to the first antibiotic, and two days is not enough to see whether the antibiotic works.

They probably will do it if you show an allergic reaction to the first antibiotic though

Sure if that one is better or there is a reason to.

Why not, if he/she thinks it is advisable?
