Does salmon compliment cheese or generally not?

    No, salmon can’t “compliment” anything.

    I think maybe the word you want is “complement”.

    In some circumstances/contexts cream cheese  can complement salmon, but not normally the other way around.

    There are rare exceptions, but for the most part, fish/ seafood and cheese do not pair well.

    The only time I would pair salmon with cheese is lox and cream cheese on a bagel or a lox/cream cheese spread/dip.

    I could probably eat a side salad with parm or goat cheese with a salmon entree without complaint, but if I were planning the menu, I wouldn't do it that way.

    Salmons do not talk so the answer is no, salmon do not complement cheese.

    Salmon is a delicate taste and should be very fresh does not typically go well with aged cheeses. As a protein, you don't need another protein added either.

    Fresh green vegetables, rice in various forms or even pastas.
