50 million years from today, will new material buried under sea bed become crude oil?

    That depends on what you consider "new material".

    What became crude oil as we know it was biological material (animals and plants) which were buried under tons of earth and left for millions of years

      FALSE:  Oil was NEVER "dead dinosaurs".  Debunked.  The ONLY relationship is that Sinclair Oil adopted a dino as its symbol.  NATURE takes care of dead animals - others EAT them, including bacteria. 
      NOW, Coal is a different matter - think peat bogs.  THAT DOES get compressed and can turn to coal.
