The foreskin does not in itself cause balanitis, but it provides the warm, dark, moist atmosphere in which the infection can thrive. Getting circumcised to remove the incubation ground is the first step, towards curing your balanitis, but you will need appropriate anti fungal or antibiotic medications from your doctor to actually clear it.

You may not be able to properly apply any creams until the circumcision has fully healed, which usually takes 6-8 weeks.

Talk to your doctor for full advice and treatments.

Stitches should have come out by now.  Some swelling after circ'ing can take time to heal, but you should see your urologist who can examine YOU for best advice.  There ARE some cases of balanitis that are not cured by circ'ing.  But one good thing SO FAR is that you're circ'd.

The foreskin does not cause balanitis. Getting rid of the foreskin will not necessarily eliminate balantis.
