what will happen if we have ww3?

and we need more people in the military after drafting everyone 18-26. Can they legally draft people over the draft age?

Update:

if we are not going to have a draft why do we still have selective service

It will be caused by the USA like WW2 and this time they will Glow in the Dark for 1000 years

First of al, the draft would have to be approved by Congress. That will take years. Second, we just had a drone fight. This is the new way to do fighting. The draft won't matter because the war will be more missile based than ever.

Stick to the facts. You will not be drafted in your lifetime.

You are assuming WW III is going to go on long enough that we will have time to get the draft up and running, that we will need more people than the 18 year olds will provide, etc. But assuming it does, yes, they can draft as many people as they need, regardless of age.

First, there isn't going to be a WWIII any time soon.  If there were to be one, it would probably involve nukes and be over fairly quickly.

Second, there is no draft in the US.  Since there is no draft, there is no draft age.  If the US were to re-institute a draft, they could create any criteria that they wanted.

You are confusing selective service registration with a draft.  They aren't the same thing.

Selective service is there to create a list of names in case they ever re-institute the draft.

There is not going to be a World War.
