How can I get my mile and half time down from 14 minutes to a little under 12 minutes?

Right now I run a mile and a half in 14:24 and on some days I can run it in 13:52 but overall I’m always in 14 minutes range. Usually when I test myself for my mile and a half run I always get tired at a mile and I’m always run a mile in 10 minutes. How do I get my time down before I leave for basic training? (I leave in 8 months for the Air Force)

    We should know more about your current training program, and your running history.

    Lacking that,  my advice is this: Run 3 miles 5 days a week.Try to run the whole 3 miles at an even effort.

    It would help if you could find someone to coach you. The coach can monitor your progress, and recommend adjustments.
