I want a Used Mazda 3 Hatchback 2009-2013 2.2 Diesel but which engine should i get?

I want a affordable powerful reliable motorway car and the Mazda 3 is perfect.

There is a 2.2 Diesel sport with 182 BHP

There is a 2.2 Diesel standard 150 BHP

I want reliability so would it be easier to get a 2.2 Diesel standard 150 BHP and get the engine re-mapped to produce more power than risk buying a sports model which will cost more.

unless your prepared to tell the insurance you have had it modified ..thats what remapping does ..and are willing to pay the higher insurance cost then leave well alone ..or else your driving with void insurance if they find out ..they have their methods ...why you think the sports is less reliable beats me ...both are good cars

Get the car that has been maintained better and runs better.

I think remapping is likely to be LESS reliable

than an engine designed to produce the power that it produces.

For reliability combined with performance, go with the sport model.

For reliability and lower expense, go with the standard model and DON'T remap.
