How to monitor employees in an organisation?

    You could spy on employees.  Check with your lawyer or a government agency on labor laws as to what is legal to do.

    Depends on what you want to monitor in the organization.  

    I assume that since this is in the Computer category, you are wanting to monitor their computer activity.  The first one most companies want to monitor is Internet usage (how much time are they spending on Facebook and Yahoo Answers?)  Your router/firewall should have the ability to log Internet and give you a report of who is going to what web sites.

    If you are running Windows servers, they can log whenever someone logs in and out of the system.  They can also log application usage.  

    If you want to get really invasion, you can install a keylogger on the computer and be able to see a print out of everything a person has typed on their computer during a day.  (Reviewing such logs can take hours and is impractical to do for an entire organization, but can be useful for looking at one specific employee for a short period of time like a couple hours.)

    Some companies even go so far as to install cameras so they can monitor and record employee activity.  I support a large medical practice that has cameras over the reception desk where they regularly handle large sums of money to record all transactions.
