Why do Asian people kill and eat innocent dogs and cats who are pets?

They don’t have the luxury of being able to go to the supermarket and have their choice of the best meats like we do, so they eat anything that’s most readily available to them in order to survive.

Pigs are the closest to humans and they are one of the smartest animal..

But anyway, most Asians don't eat dogs.

Eh...they are not their pets...not the ones they slaughter for food.

It's a bit like in the US where some people have pigs for pets, but they still have pork chops for dinner. In other words, some pigs are pet pigs; others are not.

So some dogs are pet dogs; others are not in Asia.

Why is that worse than killing and eating a cow or pig? They don't consider such animals "pets".

Asians do not see cats and dogs as pets.

    Peace.

Dogs and cats were domesticated. They were meant to be companions, not food. The reason Asians can eat them (and also keep them as pets sometimes) is because Asian cuItures generaIIy don't have the same moraI background and upbringing as much of the rest of the worId. They don't have the same sense of compassion and benevolence you can find elsewhere. Even in science now, East Asian countries/societies themselves are becoming an ethical diIemma basically because of their attempted research and support for cIoning, gene editing, human hybrids, organ harvesting, fetus harvesting, etc.

I doubt they eat ones who are their pets.  The Lewis and Clark  Corps of Discovery ate dogs but never ate Seaman, Lewis' Newfie.
