The only time I had toe issues from running long was when I ran my first half marathon. No issues during training (max miles 11) but when I ran the half, I ended up with my 2nd toe on each foot bruised/black (no blood blisters). Definitely make sure you're wearing good quality socks and your shoe fits properly (has enough room for your foot to swell some, but not loose/floppy).

Good quality...does that mean thick socks necessarily ?

If your getting blisters, your not wearing the correct socks and running shoes.
