Why does the Bible say that the moon is a light?

It says that god created two lights...the sun being the greater light to govern the day while the moon being the lesser light to govern the light.

Science says that the moon doesn't emit light of its own.It only reflects the light of the sun.

It's because when the Bible was written little was known about the actual quality of the moon.

Everything in the physical universe is made of particles of light.

The moon is a light in the night sky. This is true

The moon reflects the light of the sun. This is true too.

Both are true. There is no problem.

There is lots of ignorance demonstrated in the Bible.

If you are seeking an argument then tell me about a "skylight"  Is it a light?  A window is claimed to "light up a room" Is IT a light. A "glow in the dark paint" stores light and releases it.  Is IT a light.  Fibre optic takes light from one place and emits it elsewhere.  We have fibre optic "lights" in rooms.  Are THEY lights? Does the moon "light up the sky at night"?  Therefore does it act just like all those other "lights" I have already asked about?  Even today the average person is far from rigorous with their use of language ( perhaps they are not as good as they were a hundred years ago) so why would you expect a document, made to "enlighten" primitive tribes to be far better and more accurate than today's newspapers or TV shows?

You're taking it too literally. However, as far as our perception is concerned, there is a bright light in the sky most nights. The Bible notably describes the world as it's widely perceived. For instance, it doesn't distinguish between thorns and stings on plants. This is because it wasn't important for Bronze Age shepherds.

It seems to be a light source , since at night we cant see the real light source which is the sun .

Bible cant be seen as a "scientific source" : it was written to provide infoes to illiterated people

While the moon reflects light this light does allow us to see in the darkness.

    ◄ Joshua 10:12 - 13 ►

    Allegory for internal truth.

Lies for external minds covered by a carapice of it's own ignorance, as it is ignorance it's self unawares.

There is dark light to whom looks beautiful and feels like heaven for minds involved with chasing Eden caught up in bewilderment.

Light and objects are the same like death and time - Obligated by task.

59-63. "What you ask is the primal and efficient cause of the universe, being itself without beginning, middle or end, and uneffected by time and space. It is pure, unbroken, single Consciousness. The whole world is manifested in it like a city in a mirror.

Basically the blind or dead can"t see that the universe or that reality is a projection on a mirror akin to one looking in one and combing ones hair. They take the mirror to be real, and not what it is it's self reflected in. They are not seeking this, because they don't know they are dead.

So when the movie is switched off, who looks for the blank screen?
