May I wrap meat in plastic grocery store bags , and then store it in the freezer?

I have no plastic wrap here . Nor freezer bags.

I have aluminum foil however.

Absolutely fine, no problem at all. What do you think is the difference between a plastic grocery store bag and plastic wrap?

Just make sure that the bag is big enough to close the end over the meat, use a twist tie or just tie the handles together to avoid any part of the meat being exposed within the freezer.

As long as its wrapped and sealed, plastic store bags are OK.

I've used foil and it seems to dry out the meat in the freezer.

The problem is freezer burn. In other words the water leaves the product and destroys it. You can try wrapping it up and lots of layers of foil and then putting it in a plastic bag and wrapping it. It’ll last a little while. Hopefully won’t burn.
