how to check if the slope of a line is greater than 1 or lesser than 1?

it is only told that there is a line in 1st quadrant that is having a decreasing slope from left to right.

now how to tell if its slope will be positive or negative?

    A slope m is decreasing ⇔ m is negative (m < 0)

    A slope m is increasing ⇔ m is positive (m > 0)

m=0 ⇒ the line is horizontal

m = undefined ⇒ the line is vertical

A decreasing slope is negative, not really sure what you are asking.
