Shouldn't your question be "What is beyond the galaxies?"

If so, you would be talking about what there is beyond the beyond. Well, no one knows. There are only hypotheses: other universes (multiverse), only galaxies "striding" at more than the speed of light thus not observable anymore, or just.....nothing. So to keep your mind at peace, consider what we see around us, galaxies and all, is all the cosmos and that's that. Leave these difficult questions to the cosmologists. They, too, are having a rough time trying to figure out what's out there.

Conventional wisdom says there is nothing beyond our universe. As space and time keep expanding the universe grows, until then there is nothing there. It's hard to believe but no harder to believe than the universe is never-ending.
