If I take my unplugged headphones and put the microphone against my electric guitar while playing I can hear myself playing?

I don't mean it as in it's just sound going through the headphones, it sounds as if it's putting off a signal. It's choppy, which is what makes me think it's more of a signal instead of just sound going through them.

There's nothing wrong with this I just want an explanation as to how this happens.

Anything that vibrates at audio frequencies will vibrate other things,

which often makes for something you can hear.

This is such a basic principle of physics that

only a person who completely ignored the science they were taught in school

    should need an explanation.
