Why do people like mocking Indian accents?

I can't see what people see wrong with their accents. They don't sound bad, so, I can't understand why people pick on the way Indians speak. There are many Indians in my area and they sound friendly.

Yes it isn't a very nice thing to do and can come across as racist at times.

I mainly believe it is because many people find it amusing due to the fact indian may put a lot of emphasis on many words, for example T's and D's.

It's not due to accent. It's because people often associate them with dirty poor chaps who have no manners.

Indians are much similar to Mexicans that's why.

Same reason Indians probably mock accents like yours... peoples prejudice is based on perceived differences.. but then I’m sure you already know this....
