Should I upgrade to AX WiFi 6?

Everyone is buzzing around about this new 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 Standard.

It promises speed and long range connection. I know there are not enough client devices available right now. But is it a good buy it now?

The AX Routers from top-rated brands like, NetGear, TP-Link, and ASUS is already available to purchase.

You do know WIFI is for LOCAL AREA isn't going to add much range, if any. Tech Republic has a good cheat sheet on what it will and will not do.

It is never going to offer ranges of wide areas!  You need 5G or 6G (CELLULAR) networks for wide area networking. "Wi-Fi 6 is a wireless local area network (WLAN) technology that is meant to operate in an office, a home, conference center, or other crowded public spaces."  (from the tech republic article!)  Also what you may miss is your ISP has to deliver more internet speed in most cases before even getting  "Wifi 5 - 802.11ac) speeds to you!

There will be few devices that do that for years yet. If something breaks, look for it. But if your device works fine, don't worry about it yet.
