if it has not a regulator circuit after the battery, it will sing the song"GOODBYE FOREVER"

if it has the regulator circuit, it may accept 4 to 8 volts battery but the output is always 3.7 volts.https://protosupplies.com/product/lm317-adjustable...

The consequences depend on the device that is so abused.

Some would be damaged; others would not.

Something potentially burns out.  But don't take our word for it, go ahead and try it.

It makes a frying sound, starts to smoke, then stinks up the house and goes dead forever.
