because the cold virus lives on surfaces when germy people have touched them without having washed their hands after they coughed into them or blew their noses and you are touching these surfaces and then not washing your own hands before you eat or touch your face

You may also have allergies and a secondary infection. Also, I'd advise you to get rid of your old toothbrush and get a new one.

Poor immune system. Could be too much self-caused emotional stress, could be inescapable environmental/situational stress. Could also be not eating properly and not getting enough rest .. since this reason is far easier to correct and alter than stress, I suggest you change your lifestyle to promote physical health.
If that doesn't correct the problem, then talk to a therapist to learn how to change your attributions so you don't get stressed out so much, so often.

You can cut down on exposure by frequently washing your hands with soap and hot water and keeping your hands off your face. Wash your hands before handling food and do not eat while you are working or in class, etc.
Make sure you get adequate sleep. Being tired can reduce your immune system's effectiveness.

If the situation goes on longer than a month you should get checked by your doctor. The cause could be many things so you want to know for sure and only a doc exam with blood tests can give you a clear reason.

You're around too many people who are carrying infectious illnesses. While lots of people think you can prevent illness with various vitamins or OTC drugs, the very best method is to wash your hands often, try to avoid touching your own face (especially around the nose and mouth), and keep your distance from people who obviously don't feel well.
I hate how our culture expects and even rewards people who come to work or class when they're sick, infecting more of us.
