Is ovulation necessary to get pregnant?

    Yes, ovulation is necessary. Before a woman can get pregnant, she must release a mature egg from one of her ovaries. She won't release an egg until she ovulates.

    Yes. Unless you have an ovum to be fertilised and implanted you cannot have a baby at that time.

    Obviously.  If you don't ovulate, you don't release an egg.  If you don't release an egg, there's nothing for the sperm to fertilize.

    Yes.  No ovulation means no egg to fertilize.  But eggs can be harvested from an ovary, and frozen for later use in vitro, after a woman has stopped ovulating, thus no, ovulation is not always necessary.  Nothing like a non-decisive answer.

    Well someone has to ovulate for a conception to happen. It doesn't necessarily have to be you since donor eggs and donor embryos are a thing, but if you want your own biological child, you have to have functioning ovaries.
