Are jar candles designed to not burn completely?

(I reuse the extra wax in making new candles, but shouldn t have to)

    Yankee Candles are designed to stop burning with about a quarter of an inch at the bottom. Safety issue. They are designed to to that so the bottom of the jar doesn’t get too hot.  I take the wax out -on occasion- and use  it in a tart warmer.

    the wax on the sides is supposed to melt down into the center to burn, but often doesnt. the only candle that burns completely has to be pretty skinny like a taper, as the heat from the flame doesnt go too far
