every web site know your IP address access. when you open a website it make a handshake between your IP and the webserver IP, creating a cryptography certificate connection to trust the relation with you and the server if it is HTTPS.but, thats depending how web server is working, sometimes the forum is hosted in cloud (other enterprise server), so in this case, the owner of the forum don't know your IP, because he don't control the side of the server connection.the only way you can hide your IP address is using a VPN, but the VPN server will know your IP and activities.if you are worried about it, turn of the internet.

No. They ususally know you through your login ID, cookies stored with your browser or browser fingerprinting. Each of these is much more reliable than the IP address - which, depending on your ISP and whether you're talking about IPv4 or IPv6, your PC may share with several dozen others.

Your IP address is important for the forum server so that it knows whom to send pages you requested back to you. Users of the forum normally won't see your IP address. Only those with administrator privileges will if ever they decide to look it up but unless you give them a reason to do so, they won't. They have much more better things to do in life that snoop around people they actually consider as customers.

anybody who wants to can see your IP address. the IP address is used by the website to sent web data to your computer. it is like a phone number for your computer. it is how your computer connects to websites, and if they WANT to, they can track who uses their site with that data.

Site admin's and IT have network monitoring that logs all activity, forum, or other page.

A savy member with the tools can backtrack to your IP and service provider.

All forums will log your IP address, however most administrators will ignore the log unless they feel you are breaking their rules.
