my mic is picking up internal audio even when its unplugged?

so lets say this for an example, i am on you tube listening to a music, my friend calls me in discord and he can hear my music as well as his own voice because my "mic" records internal audio. even when i unplug my mic there should be no input for me when i click on "voice recorder" on my windows but it still records my internal audio, however not my voice.

Your computer has an internal mic

that operates when your external mic is not connected.

Look at "Sound" in control panel, go to the Recording tab and set the mic input you use to be the default.

It's most likely got "Stereo mix" selected at the moment.

If you cannot select individual sockets and you have a Realtek audio device, go to "Realtek HD Audio Manager" (eg. the brown speaker in the system tray),

then "Device advanced settings" and in the Recording device section, select

Separate all input jacks as independent input devices

Then go back to control pane and you should be able to select the mic.
