I use my Sony Bravia 55 inch LCD for two nights and then I let it rest for several days. Is it good to let the TV rest for a while too?

A TV is a piece of machinery. It does not need a 'rest'.

Leaving it off while you sleep is more than ample.

Your TV should last many years even if used almost constantly. Don't worry too much about it unless it is an OLED set. Those are best used only when you are watching them so that you can maximize their brightness and screen life.

It will not make any difference.

i thought the Sony Bravia 55 inch WAS a TV... if not, then what do you mean by "too"?
