Retail employees please answer ?
In retail stores, are customers meant to receive a receipt after their refunds are processed?

Yes, a refund almost always warrants the production of a receipt. I've worked the register at 3 different stores - a bookstore, a gas station, and a supermarket - and every single time I've had to issue a refund, I've had to give a receipt.

depends on the store. some will just lineout the returned item(s) on the original receipt. some give you a whole new one.

Generally no, although each store makes its own policy

Of course, especially with credit card refunds.
