Maybe it is time to advertise as your past clients have got out the word "your work sucks wind" or they were not impressed by your work because you charged to much, so no recommendations are going out for you by word of mouth.? You need new suckers. Advertising on the radio or local newspaper helps.  There is so many shops that do the same job as you, so there is the competition.  They are probably busy.

That's why you haven't received any calls, because they are unable to stop to call you.

The economy is still strong, in spite of what the left is putting out there to try and hurt President Trump's re-election run.

Maybe people are driving a little more conservatively in an effort to save money on repairs. Works for ME.

When I  see a red light ahead, I gear down and slow

down without using the brakes very often.

I agree with what others have said, don't try to compete with the brake shop specials and advert yourself as a general mobile mechanic. I'm sure you can do more then just brakes, consider marketing yourself to ability limit and not pidgin hole only on simple brake jobs.

Maybe you aren't the only brake mechanic in town. Maybe nobody knows you exist -- because you don't have a marketing plan. Maybe it's because brakes these days don't need servicing as often as in the past. Maybe it's because average drivers don't realize their problems are brake problems and take their car to a general service shop to be repaired. Maybe drivers don't know there's such a thing as brake repair specialists.

Evidently you don't have enough exposure to customers with advertising. If there is a "Nextdoor.com" website in your area post on there introducing yourself as a competent mechanic and once a few people come to you for work let them know if they put a little shout out recommending you and your work on the Nextdoor site you'd appreciate it. You'll have more customers then you can schedule. I give folks my commercial account prices on parts without marking them up and they like that too.

I charge $100 labor for front brakes and $125 labor for the rears.

Craigslist is free, try advertising there. Another idea is advertising on Facebook or local newspaper in services.

It is not the economy. It is baby boomers retiring. They are the largest generation and they are all retiring. There are not enough young people to make up for that so in every area there is a shortage. If illegals were coming with the skills we need we would not have a problem but most never finished high school and can not do much more than mow yards and make beds.
